Pepsi Just Responded
Wed Oct 13, 2004 at 01:12:50 PM PDT
I sent this message to Pepsi two days ago about Sinclair, Pepsi's response is below the fold:
To Whom It May Concern,
As I am sure you are well aware by now, one of your major outlets for advertising, the Sinclair Broadcasting Group, has decided to take the unprecidented and highly divisive and partisan action of requiring all of it's affiliate stations to air a one hour anti-John Kerry documentary in the weeks leading up to the election. Pepsi, by continuing to spend advertising dollars with Sinclair Broadcasting, is acquiescing in this horrible corruption of democracy in the United States.
My wife and I are Diet Pepsi drinkers and have been for several years. We feel that Pepsi simply tastes better than Coca-Cola products;
however, we cannot stand idly by while Pepsi, through their inaction, supports this atrocious attack on America and American politics. By
using it's monopoly hold on a captive media market, Sinclair Broadcasting, and those corporations who support Sinclair, such as
Pepsico with it's advertising budget, are performing anti-American acts of the worst kind. I have disposed of all Pepsi related products
in my house, and I will be only purchasing Coca-Cola products from this point forward.
I will spend time discussing this issue with my friends and family, and I will not sleep until every single person I know has decided to
boycott Pepsi and all of it's related brands. I will continue this effort until such a time that Pepsi has stoped it's support for these anti-American activities by pulling all advertising from television stations owned and operated by Sinclair Broadcasting and their affiliates. I look forward to a response about this issue, and I hope that Pepsi will chose to take action and support America, Democracy, and the American way. I hope that Pepsi is just as outraged by
Sinclair's blatant partisan activities and that Pepsi will make the right choice and once again become a company I can be proud to support.
Oklahoma Senate independent Candidate
Wed Sep 15, 2004 at 12:32:37 PM PDT
Awhile back, someone asked, with quite a bit of indignation why my liberal parents would support Brad Carson during the Oklahoma senatorial race, since Carson isn't liberal enough for that poster. So in fairness, I'll now present for you the other, more liberal choice, in the Oklahoma Senate race, Sheila Bilyeu.
Bilyeu considers herself an educator and a political activist. She most recently worked in education as a school counselor in Ponca City in 1992 and 1993.
Ohh, she sounds qualified, but lets dig a little deeper, shall we?

Worst Arnold Gaffes Yet
Fri Sep 03, 2004 at 10:41:52 AM PDT
I haven't seen this posted yet, but CNN is running an article that points out many historical innaccuracies in Arnold's speech:
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/09/03/schwarzenegger.ap/index.html
Up until now I've felt we've been kinda nit picking ("Presidential Race" vs. "Presidential Debate"), so I haven't participated in the disection of Arnold's prose; however, this latest stuff completely destroys the premise of Arnold's talk.
Bush Hinders the Spread of Democracy
Wed Aug 25, 2004 at 03:21:10 PM PDT
I'm sure many of you have seen the Bush ad
"Victory", which has already been denounced by the Iraqi Olympic Soccer team. What you probably don't realize is that this ad is a damning account of Bush's policies worldwide.
First, even though you've probably already seen it, let me transcribe the ad for you (I could not find an official transcript, so I'm personally suffering through the ad to bring you this transcription. You owe me!):
Bush: I'm a smirking chimpboy, and I approve this message. (ed note: This part may not be 100% accurate, however, the rest of the transcript is, so stick with me.)
Woman: In 1972 there were 40 democracies in the world. Today 120. Freedom is spreading throughout the world like a sunrise.
And this Olympics there will be two more free nations, and two fewer terrorist regimes. With strength, resolve and courage, democracy will triumph over terror, and hope will defeat hatred.
We'll overlook the more glaringly wrong aspects of this advert (i.e. the implication that Hussien was tied to terrorists, something that has been completely and routinely debunked), and focus on the more damning aspects towards Bush's foreign policies.
Bush and Kerry in Portland
Fri Aug 13, 2004 at 01:47:49 PM PDT
Bush and Kerry both spoke [ED: This should say ARE speaking, it's happening right now] here in Portland today. I had to work so I couldn't attend the Kerry rally, but I did get stuck in traffic at lunch thanks to the Bush motorcade, he's speaking just a couple of miles south of my office.
The local news is reporting that Bush had about 700 people in attendance at his speech, with a few supporters standing around outside and a gathering of at least 200 protesting Bush. Kerry had 15,000-20,000 [ED: now I'm hearing 25,000+] supporters at his speech, with people standing on nereby bridges and overpasses in hopes of catching a glimpse of his talk.
Now on to some anecdotal evidence of Kerry's support:
My Letter to CNN
Wed Jul 28, 2004 at 11:25:50 AM PDT
I wrote a letter to CNN about "Jacuzzi" Carlson's absurd review of Obama's speech last night, I thought I'd post it here in hopes that it may inspire one or two of you to also write letters to CNN. You can read the Carlson statement
here. My letter is in the extended text section of the diary.
Kerry/Clinton 2004?
Wed Jun 30, 2004 at 01:56:08 PM PDT
Not bloody likely if you ask me, but the Drudge Report (I know, I know, ick, but I came across the link from Fark) is claiming to have "inside information" that Kerry has made his VP pick and it's Hillary:
